{"id":403,"date":"2017-12-05T11:40:03","date_gmt":"2017-12-05T17:40:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.e-systems.net\/news\/?p=403"},"modified":"2017-12-05T11:44:14","modified_gmt":"2017-12-05T17:44:14","slug":"2017-e-systems-college-football-pool-overall-results","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.e-systems.net\/news\/2017-e-systems-college-football-pool-overall-results\/","title":{"rendered":"2017 e-Systems College Football Pool &#8211; Overall Results"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It\u2019s hard to believe, but the college football regular season (minus Army\/Navy) is complete, and now it\u2019s time to announce the winners of the 2017 e-Systems College Football Pool!\u00a0 In the closest finish in pool history, congratulations to the overall winner:<\/p>\n<h1 style=\"text-align: center;\">Crimson Gator<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/h1>\n<p><strong>Crimson Gator <\/strong>\u00a0finished the season with 2,599 points.\u00a0 Just one point behind, <strong>Paul Herron<\/strong> finished In second place with 2,598 points, and <strong>AUBrian<\/strong> and <strong>AllySun<\/strong> were one more point behind in third, with 2,597 points.\u00a0 Congratulations to each of these players for their tremendous performances!\u00a0 Each will receive a special prize for their accomplishment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Crimson Gator<\/strong> started a little slowly, but after week two they only finished outside of the top eight in a week twice. They won week 9, and have the unique distinction this year of picking perfectly in two separate weeks (8 and 14); strangely enough, due to tie-breakers, they were not the weekly winner either time. In another first, and a testament to how tight this year\u2019s competition was, they never held the overall lead until the very end. Starting with week 9 they were in second place consistently behind various other players, until a perfect 7-0 performance in week 14 allowed them to eke out a win by the slimmest of margins. But a win is a win, and it is in fact their second overall win since I\u2019ve kept records (they also won in 2011). Congratulations again to <strong>Crimson Gator<\/strong>!<\/p>\n<p>In the first half of the game (weeks 1-7), the top three performers were <strong>AllySun<\/strong> (1,468 points), <strong>Bamarock<\/strong> (1,465), and <strong>Paul Herron<\/strong> (1,464).\u00a0 In the second half of the game (weeks 8-14), the top three were <strong>Crimson Gator<\/strong> (1,144), <strong>Jeff4Bama<\/strong> (1,141), and <strong>AUBrian<\/strong> (1,140). Congratulations!<\/p>\n<p>The player who picked the most games correctly (228 out of 273 \u201383.516% correct) was <strong>AllySun<\/strong>.\u00a0 <strong>Crimson Gator <\/strong>was second with 227 games correct, and <strong>AUBrian<\/strong>, <strong>JagRag<\/strong>, and <strong>WarTiger91<\/strong> were next with 226 games. Great job to each of these consistent pickers!<\/p>\n<p>There were three multiple-week winners this year. <strong>WarTiger91<\/strong> won in both weeks 3 and 7, <strong>Bamarock<\/strong> won weeks 6 and 8, and <strong>pachyderm<\/strong> won back-to-back in weeks 10 and 11.\u00a0 Well done!\u00a0 In addition to <strong>Crimson Gator<\/strong>\u2019s week 9 win, other weekly winners included: <strong>Paul Herron<\/strong> (1), <strong>JagRag<\/strong> (2), <strong>G8rBamaLvr<\/strong> (4), <strong>BoomBoomTX<\/strong> (5), <strong>Jeff4Bama<\/strong> (12), <strong>JagAL<\/strong> (13), and <strong>AllySun<\/strong> (14). Congrats to all of the weekly winners!<\/p>\n<p>The tie-breaker award, which goes to the player who did the best overall in picking tie-breaker amounts over the season, was won by <strong>Publius<\/strong>, who was off by only 156 points total over all 14 weeks!\u00a0 In second was <strong>AUBrian<\/strong> (170), and <strong>AllySun<\/strong> (179) was third.\u00a0 Good job!<\/p>\n<p>There were ten perfectly-picked weeks this year! In addition to the aforementioned two perfect weeks by <strong>Crimson Gator<\/strong>, others with perfect weeks were <strong>JagRag<\/strong> (week 2), <strong>Bamarock<\/strong>, <strong>Paul Herron<\/strong>, <strong>G8rBamaLvr<\/strong>, <strong>Ralphie<\/strong>, <strong>Jeff4Bama<\/strong>, <strong>pachyderm<\/strong> (all in week 8), and <strong>AllySun<\/strong> (week 14). We love the\u00a0 college football season, as I\u2019m sure you all do, and we hope that this pool continues to add another level of interest and excitement as you watch games and talk about the results with your friends and co-workers! \u00a0As I mentioned before, this was the closest race in pool history, coming down to the last few games on Championship Saturday; it was a lot of fun to watch it all unfold.
